New Necklaces

It’s been busy the last couple of weeks and so I didn’t have the chance to upload anything new.
This post is about the two necklaces I was commissioned to make, I am thrilled that the necklaces were a success.
The 1st features a lotus flower (the design is from my little logo as you can see on the top left) that’s hanging from a delicate chain adorned with tiny gemstone beads.

The one below represents the 3rd eye and it’s adorned with agate round beads.

Indian Inspired Jewelry by Isharya

I am a big fun of Indian culture, design, music and what ever else there is. Although I am pretty subtle on my colour choices and lines I get mesmerized by the Indian bright colours and intricate designs.

And so when I visited the Isharya Jewellery line I had to take my favourite pieces and showcase them here. This brand is very famous and worn by many hollywood celebs. It started in 2004 and has become one of the most fashionable indian inspired brands. As the two women that design the jewellery lines write, their influences are from Indian royalty and the Art Nouveau style of the early 20th century.

Silver pendant / Ασημενιο κρεμαστο

A few weeks ago, I bought some Art Clay Silver for a commission (still working on this), with the scrap material I made this pendant. It’s similar to this one.

I really had fun making this piece, as I used buttons from my collection, as stamps. Also used a cracked sea shell and an urchin. The red stone is Cubic Zirconium. To finish it I used a silver chain with a silk chord in a lovely earthy orange colour.

Πριν απο μερικες βδομαδες ανελαβα να σχεδιασω ενα κοσμημα – καρφιτσα για την ακριβεια – αγορασα αρκετη ποσοτητα Art Clay Silver, με το περισσευμα εκανα αυτο το κρεμαστο, το οποιο βεβαια μοιαζει με ενα που ειχα κανει πριν καιρο. Αυτο εχει διαφορετικα σχεδια και η πετρα (Cubic Zirconium) ειναι κοκκινη. Το συνδιασα με μια ασημενια αλυσιδα και ενα μεταξωτο κορδονι σε γηινο πορτοκαλι.

Presenting a contemporary group of 3 talented women, offering an alternative to conventional thinking on jewellery design. As they say “Our pieces pass through manual sensitivity and are innovative in technique, based on our long experience with ceramics and jewellery.“

Roberta Ferreira, Laura Jener & Bárbara Sendino are the body and soul of ‘dterra‘. In 2001 Roberta and Laura founded ‘Three Workshop’, a space where they develop their respective crafts, ceramics and jewellery. Over time they decide to merge the two disciplines and start experimenting in the field of jewellery, precious metals combined with ceramics. In 2007 they took advantage of the incorporation of Bárbara Sendino also a jewellery artist, to renew their image and make themselves known outside the local area.

I love their organic shapes and truly amazing colours and textures, I feel inspired just looking at photos of their work.
